Introducing my new ‘News’ page

Hello and welcome to my new ‘News’ page. If you are visiting my website for the first time, my name is Rachel and I have been running Mindfulness Courses in Guildford for 2 years. I am also an experienced Chartered Physiotherapist, specialising in the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions, but have worked with a wide range of medical conditions during my career. Currently I run two 8 Week Mindfulness Courses – Monday afternoons 1 – 2.30 pm and Wednesday evenings, 7.30 – 9 pm and the venue is The St Johns Centre in Merrow, Guildford, GU4 7AA. The next two 8 Week Mindfulness Courses will start on April 24th and 26th respectively. I am also starting a new course – Mindfulness for Chronic Pain – which will also start on Monday, 24th April, 3 – 4.30 pm. More information about these courses can be found on my website and you can also find general information about Mindfulness; its benefits, some research evidence and details of course content.

I was introduced to Mindfulness 3 years ago when I attended a course at Hertfordshire University – Psychological Therapies for Physiotherapists, which included Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Mindfulness. After attending this course, I became interested in Mindfulness, took further training and having experienced personal benefit from learning to be more mindful, started to run courses in April 2015.

Mindfulness has benefits for us all, helping us to feel less stressed by our busy and often over-loaded 21st century lives. Mindfulness helps us not to dwell on things that happened in the past, nor to worry about things that might, or might not, happen in the future, but to engage fully with each present moment. Practising Mindfulness can help us feel calmer; better able to cope with life’s ups and downs and can improve our sense of well-being and contentment.
